San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks

Both teams are looking to bounce back this week from upset home losses. San Francisco blew a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter for the second time this season, losing to Arizona, and Seattle QB Geno Smith was sacked seven times in a loss to the New York Giants. The Seahawks will have a problem stopping the 49ers running game as it averages 144 yards per game, and Seattle allows 128. Christian McCaffrey has been out, but the team hasn't missed a beat as Jordan Mason has rushed for 107 yards per game on 5.1 yards per carry with three TDs. Brock Purdy passed for 244 yards and a TD, but also threw two interceptions against the Giants. The Seahawks have allowed 71 points their past two games after giving up a total of just 43 their first three games of the season. San Francisco has won the past five meetings (4-1 ATS) and the Seahawks have averaged only 14.4 points in those games. Seattle has had three extra days to prepare for this game after covering as a 9.5-point underdog while losing 41-35 to Dallas last Thursday night. Geno Smith threw for 334 yards and three TDs with an interception for the Seahawks, who are looking to avenge a 31-13 loss to San Francisco on Nov. 23. The 49ers are in a letdown situation after getting payback for last year's playoff loss to Philadelphia and beating the Eagles 42-19 on Sunday. The 49ers are just 3-4 ATS their past seven games and the Seahawks have covered four straight after allowing more than 250 passing yards their previous game and they are 5-2-1 ATS their past eight against NFC teams. Seattle is 6-2 UNDER as an underdog of at least 10.5 points and it has stayed UNDER four of five road games. The Seahawks are 9-4 UNDER after scoring more than 30 points their previous game. San Francisco has won 10 in a row and has averaged 33.5 points its past six games and not coincidentally Brock Purdy has appeared in all of them. Purdy took over for injured Jimmy Garoppolo against Miami in Week 13 and the 49er offense has flourished compared to earlier in the season. Purdy has thrown for 1,374 yards and 13 touchdowns with only four interceptions and the Niners have gone OVER five of the six, including by an average of 13.8 points the last three games. Also, Christian McCaffrey has been a key acquisition after coming over from Carolina as he has totaled 746 yards rushing on 4.7 yards per carry for the 49ers. Pete Carroll has worked wonders with Geno Smith, who has thrown for 4,282 yards and 30 TDs while totally outplaying his predecessor, Russell Wilson, who struggled with Denver. The Seahawks defense was only #26 in total yards allowed and #25 in scoring defense giving up 23.6 points per game. Seattle has gone OVER five of seven road games and four of their past five playoff games. San Francisco has gone OVER four straight at home and five of its past seven home playoff games.
