Washington at New York

It has been a disappointing year for both of these teams, as both had playoffs aspirations and both have crashed and burned. But both have been playing out the string for the entire second half of the season. The Redskins have dropped seven straight games, but have been more competitive than their record indicates. This team has lost seven games by a single possession, including two straight by a single point. The Giants' season was effectively over when they started a woeful 0-6, and it has been the worst season of the Eli Manning era. Manning has thrown 26 INTs on the season and has a QB rating of less than 70. They don't have a running back that has gained as much as 500 yards on the season. After a horrible start, the Giants appeared to have turned things around with a string of five wins in six games. But, the reality is that New York got a very soft schedule in there and took advantage of it. They really are not a good team. The biggest problem for Washington is their defense, but I don't think the Giants have enough weapons to exploit it. New York scored 31 in their opener vs. Dallas, but have not topped the 27-point mark since, averaging just 12.3 points per game in their last three. The Redskins have revenge motivation here, and Mike Shanahan-coached teams have gone 44-27 ATS with revenge. The Giants have been no-shows at home vs. losing teams, going 6-15 ATS in their last 21 such games. The Skins are 5-1 ATS in their last six vs. the G-Men, and the dog has had its day in the last six meetings at a perfect 6-0 ATS. Back Washington.
