Seattle at Kansas City

Seattle has to replace Marshawn Lynch, but as long as Russell Wilson is behind center the Seahawks are a force to be reckoned with, especially with a defense that has allowed the fewest points in the NFL four consecutive years. Running back Thomas Rawls would appear to be starting at running back after gaining 830 yards on 5.6 yards per carry last year, but he's still recovering from ankle surgery. However, fifth-round pick Alex Collins has looked good in training camp both running and as a receiver. Coach Pete Carroll says he likes what he's seen with a revamped offensive line. Rookie Trevone Boykin also has been impressive in practices as Wilson's backup and the third quarterback is Jake Heaps. Kansas City has five quarterbacks on its roster, which could make for a revolving door situation in this game and an offense will lack continuity. Backing up Alex Smith will be Tyler Bray, Aaron Murray, Nick Foles and Kevin Hogan. Bray is in his fourth season, but still hasn't played in a regular season game and the same can be said for Murray, who is in his third season. Foles, of course, was a starter for Philadelphia and St. Louis for four seasons although he is fourth on the depth chart, and Hogan is a rookie. Pete Carroll is known for wanting to win every game no matter when it is played as he has a 25-16 record in the preseason and 27-13-1 ATS. The Chiefs are 0-8 ATS as preseason home favorites of fewer than four points. Seattle has covered 22 of its last 26 preseason games against AFC West teams. Take the points on the Seahawks.
