Seattle at Dallas

The Seahawks opened the season with a lot of what we saw last season, a pair of blowout losses. Last year the Seahawks lost nine games by 15 points or more. Their two opening season losses this season were by 16 points to San Francisco and 24 points to Pittsburgh. Considering the competition, maybe it's not so bad. Last week the Seahawks lost by 22 points to Cincinnati, so this one looks easy for Dallas. Not so fast. Before that 22-point loss to the Bengals, Seattle beat the Giants on the road by 11 points, lost by 3 at Cleveland and by 2 at Atlanta and they beat Arizona. While still far from a good team, the Seahawks have been a much more competitive team. Dallas owns just one more win than Seattle which makes this line suspect. While the Cowboys are certainly much better on paper, the fact is that this team finished 6-10 a year ago and has a losing record this season. How elite can that be? Over the last two years Seattle has won more games than Dallas! This line is simply inflated on perception, not reality. Also consider that in Dallas' last six wins, going back to last season, five of them have come by margins of 3 points twice, 1 point twice and 2 points. Dating back to last season, the Cowboys are 2-10 ATS as a favorite. That is not the type of team you want to lay double-digits on. Take the dog and the points.
