San Francisco at St. Louis

This is a tough spot for the 49ers players and coaches. They would like to win it, but at the same time the last thing they want to do is suffer an injury to a key player. It likely means that they play hard, but it is hard to keep an edge when you’re in between. It will be especially tough against an opponent you beat 26-0 earlier in the season, and one that has lost six straight times, getting shutout twice. I don't doubt the Niners will put forth enough effort to keep the Rams at arm’s length, but I do expect the Rams to offer a lot of resistance here as this is their last chance to put something positive on a season of failures. Despite how it looks there are a lot of positive systems and situations on St. Louis, and ugly in the NFL is where the money is buried, so hold your nose and play on St. Louis in this one.
