How sad. This may be the first time ever a 5-9 team is fighting for a Division Championship and a playoff spot. If the Niners win their last two games and Seattle suffers a loss, San Francisco will win the NFC West. There is plenty to play for, and for those that thought the Niners were going win the West, it may still happen! While San Francisco has really struggled offensively vs. good teams, they can get it done vs. weaker competition. While they have scored just 23 points in their last three vs. winning teams at 7.7 points per game, they have scored 134 points in their last five vs. a losing team at 26.8 ppg. The Rams are a better team than last year at 6-8, but the defense still has a ways to go. Outside of a game vs. the league’s worst offense in Arizona, the Rams have opened the flood gates, allowing 148 points in the last five games (30 per game). Under Mike Singletary, the Niners rarely stumble big two games in a row. They are 12-2 ATS following an ATS loss and a perfect 7-0 ATS following a game in which they gave up 30+ points. San Francisco is the better team playing better, and the points should flow for them here pushing this one OVER the total. The Niners are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 on turf, and 8-1 OVER in their last nine as a dog of +3 or less. I’m backing San Francisco and the OVER in this one.
