San Francisco at Los Angeles

The San Francisco 49ers came into this season having gone 17-47 the last four years. The team looked a long way from being able to compete. But something is different this year. This team is quickly rising in the NFC and at 4-0 they are the lone unbeaten team in the conference. Their +70 point differential is second only to New England, with Dallas a distant third. They are doing it on both sides of the ball. The Niner’s offense is the second-highest scoring in the league ahead of New England, Kanas City and these Rams, trailing only Baltimore. They have a much better defense than most realize, ranked fourth in the league in scoring at just 14.2 points allowed per game and scoring 31.8 points per game. The running game has been exceptional, allowing Jimmy Garappolo to have the best play-action numbers in the league. The net result is an average margin of victory of over 17 points per game. And, they aren’t yet getting the respect they deserve. The Rams have to be concerned about Todd Gurley, as he looks like a shell of his former self, and his knees may be bothering him more than anyone knows. The Rams' ground attack has been feeble over the last three weeks, producing 300 total yards on 53 carries. The defense allowed 55 points to Tampa Bay and 30 to Seattle last week. They don't look anything like the team that went to the Super Bowl last year. If there’s a Super Bowl caliber team on this field, it’s the visitor. Grab the points here on San Francisco.
