This is a tough spot for the rebuilding 49ers, heading out on the road to Denver. They've lost so much depth and talent since last season, along with their very good head coach. In their only road preseason game they looked lost in a 23-10 defeat at Houston getting outgained 400-199. The offense lost the turnover battle while going 1-of-9 on third down. Even in beating disinterested Dallas last week the 49ers had just 205 total yards on offense. They are a combined 5-of-25 on third down in preseason with a weak QB passing game in Colin Kaepernik, Blaine Gabbart and Dylan Thompson. This week the 49ers unveiled a new starting offensive line and changed their first-team secondary around. Marcus Martin slid over from right guard to replace Joe Looney at center with sixth-round draft pick Ian Silbermanplayed at right guard. New coaches often have extra incentive, especially in front of the home fans, and the Broncos have a new coach in hard driving Gary Kubiak. Despite two road games Denver is 2-0 SU/ATS, winning at Seattle and Houston with stellar defensive efforts. They also have a strong one-two punch at QB with Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler. Kubiak is 21-11-2 ATS in preseason and will pour it on in his first game in front of his new home fans. Give the points on the Broncos.
