Philadelphia at Washington

Washington has endured a lot of turmoil in the offseason while dropping the Redskins nickname and dealing with legal problems in the front office. The good news is the arrival of Ron Rivera, who has the experience to stabilize the situation while getting the team back on track on the field. Washington does expect much improvement on the defensive side, especially up front with No. 2 draft pick Chase Young, who joins four other first-round picks on the defensive line. There also is plenty of talent in the secondary after acquiring Kendall Fuller and Ronald Darby. Philadelphia somehow made the playoffs last year, even while being depleted at wide receiver, and Carson Wentz had to do miraculous work while playing in all 16 games. Of course, the collapse of the Dallas Cowboys also helped the Eagles' cause. Philly does expect improvement on defense, especially in the secondary, and the Eagles were third in the league against the run and 19th against the pass, even with numerous injuries last season.
