Philadelphia at Washington

Can it get any lower for the Skins? This team started out 6-2 with their only loss coming to a then undefeated Giants team. Things looked rosy. Since then Washington has lost five of six, topped off by an embarrassing loss last week to a team that had previously won just one game all season. Jim Zorn called himself the worst coach in the world this week. They have hit rock bottom folks. Meanwhile Philly manhandled Cleveland on Monday night, winning 30-10. It was the Eagles' third straight win and they have proven that they are a good team. Guess who the public is all over in this one to the tune of seven out of every 10 bets? It certainly feels hard to back Washington here, but those kinds of games are usually the ones that win. We get a divisional home dog that was embarrassed last week and that often results in an inspired effort. I look for the Skins, who have hit rock bottom, to come out with nothing to lose and something to gain. Handing a loss to the Eagles seals their playoff fate and we all know that misery enjoys company. If you think the Eagles are the only team with something to play for here, you are mistaken. In fact, I think Washington has more to play for as their manhood is on the line. I look for the Skins to at least keep this one close.
