New York at Philadelphia

Philadelphia is in trouble but some folks out there are not ready to admit it yet. Heck, they’ve won two of their last three to pull to .500. However, I see a team that has problems. They strike me as the opposite of San Francisco (a good team that has lost several close ones). Philadelphia has won their two recent games by a total of six points. Last week they were dominated by the Giants and only pulled out the victory via a last-minute punt return TD. Donovan McNabb is way off. Is it an injury or just poor play? Who cares?!? The Eagles have THE WORST passing offense in the NFL. McNabb is throwing for just 125 yards per game and has thrown two measly touchdowns. And to make matters worse for the Eagles, Pro Bowl offensive guard Jermane Mayberry is now out for the season for knee surgery. The Jets are on an upswing and even Vinny is playing well. The better news is that Pennington is ready to go. This guy brings so many intangibles that the Jets could become a dominant team when he gets back in. He won’t start but he’ll play. The lone bright spot for the Eagles is their defense, which has done a good job at keeping points off the board (ranked 8th in scoring). But, I think the Jet’s momentum, the addition of Pennington, and Philly’s offensive woes will enable the Jets to keep this one close.
