The Patriots defense was awful to start the season, allowing 26.6 points per game through the first seven. But then as often is the case, Bill Belichick righted the ship. The Pats have given up just 17.9 per game since. Young CB C.J. Jackson continues to impress and they've allowed 6, 17, 10, 10, 17 and 12 points in six of the last eight contests. The New England offense has changed, too, with No. 2 WR Josh Gordon gone, they ran the pigskin for 273 yards last week against Buffalo. The Patriots will go with a conservative, double-tight end, run-heavy attack again and are on a 7-1 run UNDER the total. Five of their seven home games have sailed UNDER where they allow just 18.5 points per game. Throw out the home game against the high-octane Kansas City offense and they've allowed an average of 15 points in six home games. The New York Jets are in town with an offense nowhere near the Chiefs. The Jets rank #29 in yards, #24 in rushing, #21 in points. The Jets are 9-4 UNDER the total in division contests, plus 10-4 UNDER after allowing 30+ points in their previous game. This season they are averaging just 13.6 points per game in division games. It is forecasted to be below freezing in Foxborough and the UNDER has cashed five straight meetings between these rivals.
