Washington will have a new starting quarterback after Ryan Fitzpatrick went down with a hip injury, as Taylor Heinicke takes over to make just his second start after starting the NFC Wild Card game against Tampa Bay in last season's playoffs. Daniel Jones will try it again for the Giants after completing 22 of 37 for 267 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions against Denver. Both teams struggled offensively in Week 1 and there is a deeper concern for Washington, which has a lot riding on its defense this year, as it allowed 14 of 19 third-down conversions versus the Chargers, who won 20-16 while Justin Herbert threw for 337 yards and a touchdown. Saquan Barkley still is questionable for the Giants, who have won the last five meetings with WFT while covering the spread in four of them. New York won the last meeting, 23-20, as a 3-point underdog. The Giants are 19-7 ATS their past 26 road games and 20-6 ATS as road underdogs. Washington is 5-11 ATS versus NFC East teams, and it has covered just once its past six games as a home favorite. And, Ron Rivera's teams are just 8-19 ATS in the second of back-to-back home games including 1-9 ATS when coming off a loss. Play the Giants plus the points for my Thursday Night Game of the Month.
