The New York Giants have had one of those seasons that you just want to see end if you're a fan, or a player. Last week they were shutout at home by Seattle, their second time being blanked this season. I don't think that they have to worry about being shutout this week, as the Lions have not recorded a shutout since 1996. The fact is that since 2006, the Lions have held teams to 21 or fewer points just 37 out of 127 games, or just 29% of the time. The Giants will have really focused on offense all week long and they should perform a lot better this week. Meanwhile Detroit, who scores nearly 30 points per game at home, has a lot of weapons of their own to exploit an average-at-best Giants secondary - one that has been burned on the road for 31 points or more four times this season. The Lions are a team built to score and as a result they are 30-17 to the OVER the past three seasons including 21-9 OVER as a favorite. They are also 6-2 to the OVER in their last eight at home, and overall they are 10-4 to the OVER vs. a losing team. Meanwhile, Tom Coughlin-coached teams are 14-2 tot he OVER after failing to score 10+ points in their prior game. Take the OVER.
