The New Orleans Saints had a long summer with Bounty Gate and the resulting distractions and suspensions of both players and coaches. It has shown itself on the field. At 0-3 it is time to man-up, or their season is shot just four games in. This team clearly has issues but this is a lot of points! The Packers' offense which seemed unstoppable through much of last season has not looked nearly as good as the past few years. This team averaged 36 points per game through 13 games last season has averaged just 24 points per game since - a full 10 point dropoff. One element called into play is just how brutal the offensive line is. The Packers can't run the ball, so teams are playing a two-deep against them and just getting after Rodgers. Rogers took a beating in Seattle last week, suffering eight sacks in the first half alone. Subsequently, his 9.2 yards per completion has turned into 6.5 this year. The Saints are 0-3, but it is not to say they have not been competitive, as their biggest loss is by 8 points. Over their last 20 games, the Saints have lost just one time by more than 8 points and that was by 10 to of all teams - St. Louis (in a let down game). I expect them to be competitive here, as the Packers are simply not 8 points better than New Orleans. Don’t fall asleep on Drew Brees, as the offense is still potent enough so to overcome a porous defense. Take the Saints with the points.
