The New England Patriots had no business winning last week against a very good New Orleans team. They somehow managed three possessions in the last three minutes, and Tom Brady did took care of the rest. That'll teach Saints players to celebrate on the sidelines prematurely! Many would think such an emotionally-charged win would leave the Pats flat this week, but that never seems to be the case with this Patriots team. Bill Belichick and Brady don't allow it. Statistically, this New England team is average, but what isn't average are the intangibles. Belichick and Brady always seem to combine to come out on top. The duo is 18-4 vs. division rivals in the regular season. Belichick is 134-97 ATS in all games coached at Foxboro, as well as 67-40 ATS on the road. New England is also 59-36 ATS vs. teams like New York that allow 61% or more completions. The Jets have shown some flashes this season but the fact remains that over their last three games, they have been outscored 16-28 on average. They really aren't that good: they are who we thought they were. Take New England, buying 1/2 point to get it at -3.
