New England at New York

Somebody has to win in this ugly matchup and New England is laying way too many points for a team that hasn't won since Week 3. It starts with struggling quarterback Cam Newton, who went 15 of 25 for 174 yards, with no touchdowns and a costly fumble in last week's loss to Buffalo. New York kept it close for a while against Kansas City before losing 35-9, but the Patriots provide an easier target for the Jets, who are desperate to win their first game of the season. New England has scored only seven points in the first quarter this year providing an opportunity for the Jets to get off to a decent start and keep this matchup within range. Sam Darnold is not expected to start due to a shoulder injury, but that might not be a bad thing for New York. Backup Joe Flacco will get the call tonight and it will be his third start this season. The Patriots have a ton of injuries themselves and they are 4-9-1 ATS their last 13 games overall and 3-7-1 ATS as favorites. The home team is 7-3-1 ATS the last 11 meetings and the Pats have covered just two of their last seven at New York. Take the points with the Jets.
