Los Angeles at San Francisco

Los Angeles went with Easton Stick in preseason Week 2 and he completed 21 of 41 for 233 yards although he was picked off twice. Stick did rush for 63 yards and scored two touchdowns on the ground as the Chargers lost 22-17 to New Orleans. Coach Brandon Staley will go with Stick again as he will be the backup to Justin Herbert in the regular season and will need improvement although he didn't get great protection from his offensive line against the Saints. The Chargers are 3-0 ATS the past three preseason meetings with San Francisco. The 49ers come off a 21-20 win over Denver as Jake Moody kicked the winning field goal on the final play and Trey Lance set two fourth-quarter scores. Lance finished 12 of 18 for 173 yards and Sam Darnold went 11-for-14 and 109 yards and Darnold will be the backup to Brock Purdy in the regular season. Purdy completed four passes for 65 yards with no TDs or interceptions against the Saints and Kyle Shanahan says Purdy will play some this week. The Chargers are 7-1-1 UNDER their past nine Game 3 preseason games and the 49ers are 6-2 UNDER in Game 3. San Francisco is laying too many points for a preseason finale as it was fortunate to win last week and was blown out 34-7 by Las Vegas in Week 1. Take the Chargers to cover, and play this game UNDER.
