The San Diego Chargers are finally winning early in the season. They can be trusted! Not. This year they have allowed a kickoff return for a TD and a pick-six in five games. They are 4-1 but who have they beaten? Not a single good team. Their wins have come over Minnesota, Kansas City, Miami and Denver - teams that own a combined 4-17 mark. They have played one good team (New England) and the Chargers lost that game by 14 points. Now they are expected to travel east for an early game and win outright? I'm not buying it. The Jets are over-achieving on offense as they rank No. 29 but are outscoring the Chargers on the season and the Chargers’ offense ranks No. 6 in yards. The Jets have an opportunistic defense, and that should serve them well against the careless Chargers. If you can believe it, Phillip Rivers has thrown more INTs at 7 than TD passes at 6, and the Chargers’ self-destruction is in full force on the road where they are now 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine as road chalk. The Jets are off a big Monday Night win of 18 points over Miami, and teams that win on Monday Night by 17 points or more are very solid the next week. Overall after any Monday Night game, the Jets are 14-4-1 ATS in their last 19, and they are 6-1 ATS in their last seven as a dog of +3 or less. Take the Jets here.
