It has been a long time since the Raiders played consistent, competitive football. They opened last year losing by just 4 to the Chargers and then beat the Chiefs. They then took three weeks off getting outscored 96-16! Then they come back and beat an 11-win Eagles team, but the following week they lose 38-0. They beat Cincinnati, went on the road and beat Denver and Pittsburgh. The bottom line is that the talent is obviously good enough, but the commitment has been lacking each week. It has also hurt them to not have a solid quarterback. That has changed this year with the shedding of JaMarcus Russell. Jason Campbell certainly will be an upgrade to Russell. Tennessee was awful to start the season a year ago, and then surged to finish at .500. The Titans can run the ball, but the passing game is below average and the Raiders have done well in this spot. While they are 0-8 ATS as a favorite the last four years, the Silver and Black are 5-1 ATS in their last six as a 6.5 dog or more. Under Jeff Fisher, the Titans are 25-38 ATS as a favorite of 3.5 to 9.5 points and at home under Fisher, they are 11-25 ATS as a favorite of 3.5 to 7 points. I like Oakland in this one.
