Houston at Denver

Houston hired Bill O'Brien to run the team - a former offensive wizard with Tom Brady and the Patriots and Penn State. He did a terrific job for both. He has plenty of offensive weapons in the air and on the ground to utilize and we saw that last week when they put up 32 points and 138 yards rushing in a win over Atlanta. Three QBs were 19-of-29 passing for 2 TDs. They will be able to score on this rebuilding Denver secondary that was #27 against the pass last year. But Denver can score better than anyone behind QB Peyton Manning, who will get his most work in week three on an offense already averaging 27.5 points per game - and that was against the defenses of the 49ers and defending champion Seahawks. Last week Manning completed 12 of 14 passes for 102 yards and a 120.8 rating. Demaryius Thomas had three catches on Denver's opening drive, including a 20-yard gain. Denver is 2-0 OVER the total in week three of preseason with Manning, they're plus on a 6-0 run OVER the total in week three. Last year they beat the Rams here in week three 27-26, with 446 yards as part of a 3-0 run to end last preseason. Two Denver QBs were 34-of-49 for 313 yards, so take the OVER in this one.
