Detroit at Pittsburgh

This is not a vintage Pittsburgh team. The "Steel Curtain" is allowing 24.2 points per game this season including 55 to New ENgland, 40 to Chicago and 34 to Minnesota. Now they are going to see the hottest passing combination in the NFL. QB Matthew Stafford and WR Calvin Johnson are again connecting at a high rate, and have been productive in the end-zone. Johnson is averaging 113 yards per game an 17.1 per catch! He also has nine touchdowns already. The Lions are 6-2 when both Stafford and Johnson in the lineup, and the two losses were by a total of 7 points. So, chances are they are in this one at the end to win it. Ben Roethlisberger has certainly had better seasons. He has thrown for 13 TDs to 10 INTs and is often under duress. The Steelers have scored 23 or fewer points seven times in nine games. That's not going to cut it given the Lions average 26.4 per game (and the Steelers defense has allowed opposing offenses to score 2 points more than their average). The Lions have added a running game this year with Reggie Bush and they are now a legitimate contender. Take the Lions.
