Detroit at Buffalo

Detroit has been great in preseason and has nothing left to prove. They won’t risk often-injured QB Matthew Stafford this game, so it’s QBs Shaun Hill, Drew Stanton and Zac Robinson. They are off a 34-10 blowout of the Patriots, playing all-out at home and now go on the road in this meaningless contest. As good as Detroit has been, the Bills have more to prove, reshuffling their offensive line and finally getting some results last week with a 35-32 comeback win over Jacksonville with 443 yards. Linebacker Shawne Merriman (groin) is expected to play Thursday after missing the last two preseason games. Merriman played well in the preseason opener against Chicago, and the Bills want to get him more action before the regular season. The Bills have been good in their home games in preseason, winning 34-21 (Colts) and 35-30 (Bengals) last preseason and this is their second straight home game. They need to get interest and sell some tickets, with this game not sold out and on tape delay. Play the Bills.
