New coaches almost always want to impress their new fans and bosses, even in preseason. Denver has a new coach in Gary Kubiak and he impressed last week, winning at Seattle as a dog 22-20. It was really more one-sided than that, leading 19-10 at the half and finishing with an edge in yards 356-181. Seattle is a run-first team that has been dominant at home, even in August, and Denver held the Seahawks to 89 yards rushing for 3.7 yards per carry. On offense, Denver will use star QB Peyton Manning more but the Broncos have an excellent backup in Brock Osweiler. Osweiler was 15-of-20 for 151 yards, 1 TD and no picks last week (just one sack, too). Houston has home field but less to prove after an easy win at home. Houston Coach Bill O'Brien has indicated that Ryan Mallett will start this weekend's game against Denver, the lesser talent of the two Texans QBs. The Texans also had trouble running the ball against San Francisco, averaging just 3.2 yards per carry. RB Arian Foster has an injured groin and won't play this week. Denver Coach Gary Kubiak is a sizzling 19-11-2 ATS in preseason too, so take the points and play on Denver.
