Dallas at Washington

The Dallas Cowboys are the NFC's version of the San Diego Chargers. Talent abounds on this team, but for some reason they seem to implode at the wrong time. As a result, they end up on the short side of the scoreboard when they have no business doing so. Washington appeared destined to be a contender early in the season with an impressive opening win vs. the Giants on their way to a 3-1 start. Unfortunately, they have now dropped five straight and have fallen out of favor with fans, oddsmakers and bettors who have sided with the careless Cowboys here in large numbers. Why this team remains a public favorite I don't know. People seem to lose sight of the fact that the Cowboys were 6-10 last season and are just one game above .500 this season. Dallas is a hard team to trust as chalk especially as they are just 3-11 ATS since last season as a favorite, and as a road chalk they are just 1-6-1 ATS. This has been a major underdog series with the dog weighing-in at 22-6 ATS in the last 28 meetings. And, the Skins always get up for Big D as they are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings. The Cowboys are just 5-15 ATS in their last 20 road games folowing a 21+ point blowout win. Finally, in his coaching career, Mike Shanahan has bounced back strong when revenging a game loss that he could have won. He's 15-3 ATS revenging a loss of 3 or less. Play on Washington in this one.
