Cleveland at Tampa Bay

The Cleveland Browns may be 0-2 but they've been in every game, losing by just 1 and 3 points. Josh McCown is listed as the #1 QB and that's a blessing as overrated Johnny Manziel won't be playing. Coach Mike Pettine said McCown will likely play into the third quarter, and Thad Lewis will finish out the game. Cleveland's offensive line talent is rated one of the best in the NFL and the defense has been stellar, allowing 15 points per game. They held the Bills to 231 yards and 81 rushing (just 2.8 yards per carry) last week and have won the turnover battle 2-1 in two games. McCown didn't play last week and was 5-for-5 in the opener. Browns defensive lineman Xavier Cooper has three sacks in the preseason, which is tied for the league lead. Cleveland has had a long time to prepare while Tampa Bay is on a short week having played Monday. Tampa Bay rookie QB Jameis Winston is still a big work in progress and has a long way to go and there is a lot of youth and question marks with this Bucs' defense. Since Cleveland treats the third preseason game as close to the regular season as possible, the Browns have installed a game plan to attack the Buccaneers. McCown is an accurate downfield passer and has deep threats in Taylor Gabriel and Travis Benjamin, so grab the rested dog with the more reliable QB and play the Browns.
