Like many NFL teams this season, Chicago is stuck with a backup QB. But Luke McCown has been really good with seven TDs and one pick - a far better ratio than Jay Cutler. McCown threw for 352 yards last week with two TDs and one pick in a loss to the Rams. And, he now gets to face a terrible Minnesota defense. That production is a testament to McCown and the new Chicago coach, Mark Trestman, who has a long and successful resume of strong offenses in both Canada and the NFL. Chicago has a slew of weapons on offense as well, with WRs Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall along with RB Matt Forte. The Bears are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games after allowing more than 30 points in their previous game. They face a Minnesota team with just two wins that is playing mostly awful football. They are delighted that they didn't lose last week, getting a tie at Green Bay while blowing a 23-7 fourth quarter lead! The Vikings are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games on fieldturf, and 1-5 ATS following a spread win. The Minnesota QBs (Christian Ponder, Matt Cassel, Josh Freeman) are all terrible, combining for 11 TDs and 13 picks while the Minnesota defense is worse: 29th against the pass and 25th against the run. Opposing QBs have thrown 24 TDs to jus t eight picks against the Vikings' secondary. Chicago rolled up 411 yards in the first meeting, a win, and the Bears are 6-2 ATS in their last eight meetings. Take the Bears in this one.
