It has been a tough season for the Carolina Panthers who have fallen to 3-5-1 on the season after a 2-0 start. That has left them 1-5-1 in their last 7 games. They lost a lot of players on defense from one of the league’s best a year ago but after starting the season allowing a total of 17 points in their 2-0 start things looked promising. It has been all downhill since then. The Panthers have been one of the league’s worst defensive teams since game three where they have allowed 32.1 ppg. While the defense has not given them a chance, the offense has fallen off as well as they have scored just 12 ppg in their last three. When you see the difference between the two, it is obvious why they can't find the win column. They now must face a Philadelphia team that is 6-2 on the season and 13-3 over their last 16 regular season games, which qualifies them as an elite team. In their last eigh home games, the Eagles have outscored their opponents 272-147 (36.5 to 18.4 on average). That comes to an average of 55 points per game in this building, so I think the total is considerably under done, but what is missing from the equation is the Eagles dominance at home. Under Ron Rivera, the Panthers are 8-1 OVER after a double-digit loss and 9-2 OVER vs. great offensive teams like Philly (teams averaging 27+ points per game). The Eagles are now 9-3 to the OVER vs. losing teams and they have put the offense on display on Monday Night Football where they are 7-1-1 to the OVER in their last nine. Play on Philadelphia on the moneyline and take the OVER.
