Carolina at Los Angeles

Carolina is desperate for a win and it finds itself in a good spot this week as the Chargers gave it all they had and still lost a heartbreaking 23-20 overtime game to the Super Bowl champion Chiefs. The Panthers should be happy with Teddy Bridgewater's performance so far and he connected on 33 of 42 for 367 yards in the loss to Tampa Bay. Unfortunately, Christian McCaffrey is out indefinitely due to an ankle injury, but the Panthers must improve on two fronts and those are turnovers and penalties. Justin Herbert started for the Chargers in place of Tyrod Taylor, who suffered a lung injury right before game time due to a doctor's error. Herbert threw for 311 yards and it's unclear who will start this week. Of course, the Chiefs defense didn't prepare for Herbert and the Panthers will have a scouting report on him if he starts. Los Angeles is 8-20-1 ATS its last 29 home games and 9-23-1 ATS as a home favorite. Also, the Chargers are 4-8-2 ATS their last 14 September games. Carolina has gone OVER seven of its last eight games and it is 22-9 OVER as a road underdog. Take the Panthers and the OVER.
