Carolina at Atlanta

Despite Atlanta stumbling in mid-season this is not a bad team at 7-7. They have plenty of offensive talent, anchored by QB Matt Ryan and star WR Julio Jones. The defense has also been vastly improved under the new coaching staff, at #14 against the run and in points allowed. The Falcons are on a 20-5-1 run UNDER the total, including 15-5-1 UNDER against the NFC. Atlanta has a shot at a winning record and has only home games remaining. They will be up for this division game, especially with a 14-0 Carolina team in town, and the UNDER is 11-4 when Atlanta plays the NFC South. Carolina moved to 14-0 with a testy 38-35 win over the New York Giants last Sunday in a physical, emotional game where they blew a 35-7 lead only to hang on for dear life. They allowed the Giants to match an NFL fourth quarter record with a 28-point comeback. Atlanta still has a shot to make the playoffs, so look for a great defensive effort. The UNDER is 50-19-4 in the Falcons last 73 games after allowing fewer than 90 yards rushing in their previous game. The Falcons are also 7-1 to the UNDER this season when facing a good offensive team like Carolina (teams averaging 350+ yards per game).
