Buffalo at Detroit

The Buffalo Bills had their big offensive explosion last week, winning 43-19. However, that was at home and against a weak Pittsburgh secondary. Now they head out on the road to Detroit and the Bills won their only road preseason game, 11-10 at Cleveland. Buffalo's strength is with a deep, talented defense. They face a Detroit team team that also has a ton of defensive talent, especially up front, one of the top defenses in the NFL last season. The Lions' QB rotation after Matt Stafford is not so sharp with Dan Orlovsky, Kellen Moore and Garrett Gilbert. Coach Jim Caldwell won't show anything on offense, but was quietly disappointed in a lackluster performance by his starting defense in Friday's exhibition win over Jacksonville, despite allowing just 17 points. Last season in preseason week four these teams met and the Lions won 23-0 in a game that sailed UNDER the total and this one shapes up as a contest with far more defense than offense.
