Mike McDaniel went 2-1 straight up and ATS in his first preseason, including a 48-10 rout of Philadelphia in the finale, and then did a great coaching job in the regular season getting Miami into the playoffs and almost pulling off a huge upset of Buffalo before losing 34-31. Tua Tagovailoa likely will not play, as the Dolphins' success hinges on his staying healthy, and Skylar Thompson is the backup and he was the quarterback in the aforementioned game against the Bills and did enough to keep his team in the game. Thompson threw for 220 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. Mike White is next up in the QB rotation and he has appeared in eight games in his NFL career all with the New York Jets, and has completed 62.2 percent of his passes with eight TDs and 12 picks. James Blackman is a rookie QB out of Arkansas State and before that Florida State. Atlanta coach Arthur Smith is 2-4 straight up and ATS in preseason, including a 37-17 loss to Miami in 2021. The Falcons' QB rotation consists of Desmond Ridder, Taylor Heinicke and Logan Woodside. Ridder appeared in four games in 2022 and went 73-for-115 with two TDs and no interceptions. Heinicke started nine games for Washington last year and had 12 TD passes and six picks. Woodside appeared mostly in garbage time in 2020 and 2021 for Tennessee and got into 11 games completing one pass.
