New Orleans Saints vs New York Giants

New York has won three in a row with the offensive finally coming to life averaging 21.6 points behind QB Tommy DeVito (8 TDs, 3 INTs). The Giants are coming off a 24-22 upset over the Packers on Monday night. The defense is 26th in the NFL in yards allowed and 25th in points surrendered (24.2 per game). New Orleans has scored 28, 28, 24, and 24 points in its last four home contests. The offense is 13th in the NFL in total yards and has a veteran QB in Derek Carr (13 TDs, 7 INTs). Take New York/New Orleans OVER the total. 

I think the fact that the Giants are off to an 0-3 start has a lot to do with this line. The Saints continue to be the public favorite in this game and have now moved this from the opener across a key number, to 7.5. Despite a 2-1 record, the Saints offense, which always was potent under Drew Brees, has taken a big step backward. The Saint offense has produced 233 yards per game, and that's in the danger zone for a team favored by better than a TD. The Giants could just as easily be 2-1 as well, as they lost two games by a total of three points. The line would look a lot different if the Giants were 2-1 coming in instead of 0-3. This looks like a severe over-lay. Make the play on the New York Giants.

This is a great matchup for the New Orleans defense. After squeezing by Atlanta last week, 43-37, they face an anemic NY Giants offense. The Saints offense is fourth in the NFL in yards, third in passing and second in points (34.7 points per game). QB Drew Brees was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 396 yards and three touchdowns. He faces a New York Giants offense that is #24 in yards, #25 in rushing, #27 in points (18.3 pg). They once again have a weak offensive line, with QB Eli Manning throwing just three TDs in three games and being sacked 12 times. The New York defense is #15 in yards allowed, on an 8-2 run UNDER the total, as well as 12-4 UNDER on field turf. They are also 8-3 UNDER against winning teams. Back the UNDER and the wagering value is on the Saints to win the game, so lay New Orleans straight-up and also take the UNDER.
