Cleveland Browns vs New York Giants

New York played much better last week after a Week 1 flop against Minnesota. QB Daniel Jones had two touchdowns and no interceptions in a close loss at Washington. The Giants are on a 6-3 ATS run. Cleveland QB Deshaun Watson is back in action after playing in just six games in 2023. He has looked rusty (one TD, 2 interceptions). The offense was 2-of-14 on third down in last week's win over Jacksonville. The defense has allowed over 100 rushing yards in each of the first two games and ranks 22nd in points given up (23 per game), while the offense is 31st on third down (13.79%) and 28th in total yards. The New York Giants will be heading to Cleveland after losing their opener to the New York Jets. The game was a pathetic offensive performance for the G-men which saw them produce fewer than 100 yards through three quarters. The Giants will likely have a much better showing this week. The offense should see starters sprinkled across the field, and I expect more from the offense. Unfortunately, the Cleveland Browns will be doing the same, and their offense looks scary on paper this year. There is a good chance the Browns do a whole lot more than the Jets reserves did a week ago. I think both teams are looking at getting the offense on track, and there are legit players on both sides. The New York Giants playoff hopes took a hit last week vs. Arizona. After four straight wins, the Giants were a no-show last week, losing 26-7. The Giants' liability has been an offense that is producing 14.3 points per game over its last three games, and just 300 total yards a game on the season. They will face the red-hot Baker Mayfield offense of the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland has hung 40+ on each of its last two opponents with Mayfield throwing for nearly 700 yards in the two contests. QB Daniel Jones is questionable for this game for the Giants, and the Browns offense is going to be the best unit on the field for this one. The Giants defense may keep them in it, but Cleveland will come away with another win. Make the play on Cleveland on the moneyline.

The Giants lost to Pittsburgh 20-12 last week, and the momentum turned on a fumbled punt return in the final minutes of the first half. The Steelers then recovered and scored on a 28-yard pass from Josh Dobbs to Cobi Hamilton on the very next play. Geno Smith was 10 of 16 for 114 yards, but threw a costly interception that set up a field goal for the Steelers. Josh Johnson was 5 of 10 for 31 yards and Davis Webb finished 8 of 16 for 67 yards. Cleveland showed some life in a 20-14 win over the Saints with 312 net yards, and DeShone Kizer threw a 45-yard touchdown to Jordan Payton with under two minutes for the Browns. Kizer was 11 of 18 for 184 yards, Brock Osweiler was 6 of 14 for 42 yards, and Cody Kessler finished 5 of 10 for 47 yards. Coach Ben McAdoo is 2-3 straight up in preseason for the Giants while Hue Jackson is only 1-8 in exhibition play with the Raiders and Browns. Cleveland's win over the Saints was the 10th preseason loss in a row for New Orleans before its win on Sunday over the Chargers. New York is a playoff contender while the Browns are still in a rebuilding stage with not a lot of depth, espeically at the quarterback position where Osweiler was a last resort pickup.
