Cincinnati Bengals vs Denver Broncos

Denver's defense is ninth in the NFL in yards allowed, 11th on third down, second in the red zone, and fourth in points given up (18.7 per game). The defense allows 23.1 points per game on the road for the season. Cincinnati has no balance on offense, ranked 29th in rushing, and a steady light rain is expected for this one. The Bengals have won three in a row, with the defense allowing 17.6 points per game. Take Denver/Cincinnati UNDER the total. 

Cincinnati has lost its last two games, but it could have won both if not for turnovers against the Chargers and then allowing the 49ers to score a touchdown in overtime after the Bengals had kicked a field goal. They can't afford to lose many more if they want to stay in playoff contention, and the Bengals have a good opportunity against Denver, which has split its last four games and is coming off a win over lowly Detroit. If Cincinnati can get out of the gate faster as opposed to its last two games, the Bengals have the better offense and quarterback in Joe Burrow, who staged a brilliant comeback against San Francisco while finishing 25 of 34 for 348 yards and two TDs. The Broncos are averaging only 21.2 points, and Cincinnati allows 22.5. The Bengals have covered four of their last five road games, and they are 5-2 ATS following a loss. Denver has covered just once its last six games versus AFC opponents, and the Broncos are 3-8-1 ATS their past 12 games following a win by at least 14 points. Play the Bengals for a Max Play.

The Cincinnati Bengals have not won a playoff game since the 1990-91 season. After starting the season at 4-1 it sure looked like they would get a chance this year to end the streak. The season went on free-fall after that as the Bengals have gone 1-5 since, and now have lost QB Andy Dalton for the season as well. The Bengals' defense has fallen apart and has allowed 189 points over their last five games or a woeful 37.8 points per game. The total here is adjusted way too far down because of the Dalton injury. Denver has a decent defense but has allowed 19 points or more to all but two teams on the season. There should be plenty of points here to get this one to 50+. Take the OVER.

These two teams in the midst of disappointing seasons meet on Sunday, but at least Cincinnati has an established quarterback in Andy Dalton while the Broncos were desperate enough to bring back Brock Osweiler after Trevor Siemian fizzled out. Osweiler finished 18-of-33 for 221 yards with a touchdown and interception in his team's 41-16 blowout loss at home to New England. Tom Brady had a field day against the once-proud Denver defense and even the special teams got into the act, allowing a 103-yard kickoff return by Dion Lewis. Denver has lost five straight and the Bengals are looking to snap a two-game skid after a tough 24-20 loss at Tennessee. DeMarco Murray scored on a seven-yard pass from Marcus Mariota with 36 seconds left to seal the win for the Titans. Dalton was 20-of-35 for 265 yards with two touchdowns and no picks. Cincy is #12 in points allowed (20.2 per game) and #13 in yards allowed (321.0 per game). Cincinnati is also 15-3 UNDER its last 18 games after an ATS win and 11-5 UNDER their last 16 road contests.
