Marshall at South Carolina

Marshall played in a steady rain in last week's 32-16 win over Eastern Kentucky that went UNDER the total and this week figures to be worse due to Hurricane Florence. The Thundering Herd's defense led the league in allowing only 121.2 rushing yards per game in 2017 and it was second-best in points allowed (19.9 per game). The Herd allowed Eastern Kentucky just 3.1 yards per carry and 187 total offense yards. South Carolina basically looked terrible on offense in its 41-17 loss to Georgia and was beset by dropped passes and an off game for quarterback Jake Bentley, who only had one pass completion for more than 18 yards and that was in garbage time. The Gamecocks managed only 54 rushing yards on 20 carries and although Bentley finished 30-of-47 for 269 yards, he was picked off twice. The Gamecocks plan on continuing to run the ball at least as much as last week, especially with the weather conditions. Marshall is 5-1 UNDER its last six games when following a win and South Carolina is 11-4-1 UNDER its last 16 September games. Look for this matchup to stay UNDER the total.
