The Georgia Bulldogs pulled off a season-changing upset last week in taking down the Florida Gators. It puts them back in the hunt for the SEC East crown, and a chance to earn the right to play Alabama in the SEC Championship game. A win there could have them in line for the BCS Championship game. But, there is still a lot of football to play before any of that occurs. Questions were arising over an underachieving Bulldogs’ defense that allowed 35 points to SC and 44 to Tennessee. A lot of those questions were answered last week when they held the Gators to less than 4 yards per play. Ole Miss comes in at 5-3, but still has a lot of question marks, as they have yet to record a significant win. The wins are against one team not even in the FBS. The other four have a combined record of 8-25. QB Bo Wallace has been remarkably inconsistent with ten TDs, but nine INT's on the season. The Rebels have also allowed 43 ppg in their three losses - all teams the caliber of Georgia. Georgia has a ton to play for and style points will continue to matter. Play on Georgia in this one.

Georgia at Mississippi
It always opens some eyes when you lose to Vanderbilt in an SEC game, but when you lose by 23 it really starts the questions flowing. Thus is the case with Ole Miss. But before the emphasis goes too far on one game, Vandy is a much better team than we have seen in years past, and I think they will surprise someone else before it is over. The Georgia Bulldogs were always a player in the rugged SEC, but times have changed. They needed a Bowl win two years ago to continue their long string of winning at least eight games, and last year’s Bowl loss left them under .500 at 6-7. They are 1-2 to start this season, allowing 80 points in two contests vs. good teams. Their only win came against Coastal Carolina. This defense has really slipped. Going back to last year, they have now allowed 30 points or more to each of the last six D1-A opponents. Laying this kind of wood on the road in a conference game with a highly suspect defense is asking alot, especially when you own a 7-17-1 ATS mark in your last 25 conference games. In his coaching career, Houston Nutt is a perfect 8-0 ATS following a road loss by 21+ points so expect his team to be motivated here. He's also 16-5 ATS at home vs. losing teams. Take Ole Miss.
