New York at Washington

New York has made a huge jump the last couple years and now along with the Las Vegas Aces is one of the favorites to win the championship. The Liberty acquired Jonquel Jones and Breanna Stewart to team with Courtney Vandersloot, former No. 1 pick Sabrina Ionescu and Betnijah Laney to form a powerful nucleus. Of course, it will take time to build team chemistry especially on the offensive end and New York had a short training camp without all its players available has Vandersloot suffered a head injury on the first day and Stewart missed the first week. Washington had the league's best defense in 2022, but offensively it was a different story and the team hasn't made many changes from last season's roster although Elena Delle Donne said she expects to play the entire season after missing many games due to recovering from injuries last year.
