Minnesota at Phoenix

The two most exciting teams in the WNBA square off in Phoenix tonight, that is if you like high octane offense. Phoenix comes in averaging a WNBA best 91.8ppg, while close on their tail is the Minnesota Lynx at 88.4ppg. The Mercury broke the WNBA single game scoring record by putting up 115 vs Sacramento. Minnesota has gotten off to a big start at 4-1, but have always struggled against Phoenix. They have not been able to matchup with Diana Turasi and Cappie Pondexter who combined to average 51 points a game against the Lynx and the Mercury have now taken five of the last six between these two clubs. This will be even more challenging for the Lynx as they played last night, have to change cities and face a rested Phoenix team that will test their endurance. The Lynx have had great difficulties in this spot as they are just 2-10-1 ATS with zero days rest. Phoenix has kicked it up a notch this season and are on a 6-0 ATS run on their home court, I look for them to win and cover in this one. I also like the UNDER here. Yes, the last seven times these teams have met, the OVER has prevailed. But the average total in those games was 172.2! The total never topped 177 and yet here it is set over 5 points higher than that. Minnesota has gone OVER in all five of their games but their games are averaging 169.6 - over 12 points lower than this total. Phoenx is 3-1 OVER but their games are also averaging under this total. These are too good teams and the defense will be more intense tonight than in their prior games. I'll take the UNDER here as well as Phoenix.
