I have been dead on in the first two games between these clubs. I liked Phoenix in game one and Los Angeles in game two. I am going back to the Mercury in game three. As predicted, Los Angeles came out last night with a purpose and played some inspired defense. Phoenix was held to their lowest total points scored last night by LA since their total of 71 in game 3 versus Sacramento. It was their lowest output at home this season. Diana Turasi was the only player for Phoenix scoring, but she was plagued with foul trouble, and eventually fouled out. It is something the Mercury will take personally here. The three times they have been held in the 70s by an opponent this season, they came back in their next game vs. that opponent, one of which was LA, and scored 115, 103 and 100 points. They averaged 106 ppg vs. the same opponents in the games following their 70s performances! I look for them to come out smoking here tonight. Just as LA knew last night they had to keep Phoenix down to win and save their season, Phoenix knows the recipe for them to win - score! How have the Mercury fared after suffering an ATS loss? They are 15-3 ATS in their last 18, and they have also followed up a straight-up loss with a 13-3 ATS mark. Phoenix is also 10-2 this season after a loss. I really like the Mercury to get the win here.
