Connecticut at Washington

The Connecticut Sun finished the 2013 WNBA season as the worst team in the league. They opened the 2014 campaign with what appeared to be a similar fate when they stood at 1-5 through six games. They then caught fire and went on an unexpected 7-1 run, but they have fallen hard and fast in their last 10 games since the run where they are just 2-8. So when you take a look at their 10-24 finish last season, and 10-14 mark this year and extract the 7-1 run, they are 13-38 in their other 51 games. When you take a look at their road futility over the last season plus this season, they sit at 5-24 straight-up. Their 10-14 ledger on the season becomes highly over-rated when you take a look at how they got there. Washington is a more legit 10-13 team, and one that is playing very well right now, having won three of their last four. Washington has stepped it up on the offensive end, as they went through a stretch of 9 of 15 games scoring in the 60s or less, but have now scored 72 or more in six straight games. Connecticut allowed more than 90 points in just two of their first 17 games, but have done so in three of their last seven as the pace has picked up for them as well, but it has not aided the win column. The Mystics have played well when they have had plenty of rest at 4-0 ATS in their last four with 3+ days of rest. The Sun have struggled to match-up with this Washington team as they are 1-8 ATS in the last nine meetings, and 0-5 ATS here in Washington. Both of these teams are playing at a quicker pace, but Connecticut just doesn't find the win column on the road. Take Washington and the OVER in this one.
