Atlanta at Washington

There is no doubt that the Washington Mystics are an improved team over a year ago. Last season the Mystics won just five times, and they have 12 wins already this season. If the season ended today, they would be in the playoffs, but there is still work to do. The Mystics have proven capable at home where they own wins vs. both Conference leaders in Chicago, and Minnesota. They should also have payback in mind off an 18-point drubbing in Atlanta just five days ago that should still be fresh in their memories. Atlanta started the season with a bang, as they were out of the gate at 10-1. They were starting to look like a Championship team, but they have since become a poor team that has gone just 4-8 over their last 12 games. Washington has improved defensively and have held 17 teams to 80 points or less this season, and at home the count is less than 80 in eight of their last nine. These teams scored a combined 134 points just five days ago in Atlanta and more of the same is expected here for this one. The Dream are just 2-7 ATS in their last nine vs. a losing team, while the Mystics are controlling the tempo at home with seven of their last nine failing to reach the total here.
