Atlanta at Seattle

The Seattle Storm had a number of years at or near the top of the WNBA standings. This is a team in transition as the stars of the past have aged or moved on. What is left needs to be added to, developed, and lift the level of play that we have seen from this team this season, as it is below the level we have seen in the recent past. To put it all in perspective, over a four year period from 2008 through 2011, the Storm lost a combined seven home games. This season, they have lost eight and still have three more to play. Atlanta is the best team in the East by far at 17-11 on the season. The Dream have defended much better then they have in the past as they have allowed only four teams in their last 19 games to get to 80 points, and they held Seattle to 69 in the first meeting. The Storm are forced to slow tempo to stay in games, and they have recorded a WNBA high of 16 games not getting to 70 points. The good news is that they have allowed just three of their last 18 opponents to get to 80 points. This game is one sided, and the numbers you see above will make it difficult for this one to get over the top with the total in the low 150s. The Dream have gone 6-1 ATS in their last seven vs. the West, and the Storm are struggling at 1-7 ATS in their last eight. The Storm are also 36-15-1 to the UNDER in their last 52 on three or more days of rest. In the last five meetings here the Dream are 4-1 ATS, and the UNDER is 4-1 in the last five as well.
