The New York Rangers began a rebuilding process two years ago. They're now in year three and they hope to start seeing the dividends, as they have a goal to be a playoff team this season. Winnipeg has made the playoffs each of the last two seasons, but dropped 15 points in the standings last year, and may be a team in decline as they were dumped in the first round of the playoffs as well. Winnipeg made a lot of roster moves, and lost a lot of talent for some promising youth, and may struggle to duplicate the success of the past two seasons, in particular, early on.
