Two sensational defensive teams lock horns for Game 1. Winnipeg allowed nine total goals in beating Minnesota in five games. During the regular season, the Jets were fifth in the NHL in goals allowed with a top 10 penalty killing unit. Winnipeg outscored Minnesota 7-0 the last two games as part of a 15-8 run UNDER the total. Speaking of defense, Nashville is even better, at second in the league in goals allowed, and sixth in penalty killing. The Predators and Jets each are backstopped by Vezina Trophy finalists in net in goalies Pekka Rinne and Connor Hellebuyck. Rinne compiled a 1.34 GAA and .951 save percentage in the final three games against Colorado the last series, a top 10 offensive team. For the series he had a .924 save percentage, a 1.93 goals-against average, and two shutouts. Look for few quality shots and great goaltending in Game 1. Play the UNDER.
