Winnipeg at Los Angeles

The defending champion Los Angeles Kings (0-1-1) are winless? They won't be after this one. They come off an OT loss at Arizona last night, so coming home will help. Obviously there is a ton of talent on this team, and the Kings open a six-game homestand, their longest of the 2014 portion of the schedule. The Kings are 57-27 in their last 84 home games, 4-1 playing on no days rest. It's a tough spot for the visitors, who come in with a lot of problems. They have not played a home game while opening the season with three straight road games. Winnipeg is off a 3-0 defeat at San Jose on Saturday and learned it will be without Evander Kane for awhile as the left wing is expected to be sidelined at least two weeks with a knee injury. The Jets are 13-39 playing on no days rest, 5-17 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation. The Kings won two of the three meetings with Winnipeg last season and are 10-3-4 in the all-time series, plus the Jets are 1-5 in the last six meetings in Los Angeles. Play the Los Angeles Kings.
