Winnipeg at Colorado

The Winnipeg Jets have been starving to put a playoff-caliber team on the ice for quite some time. They have not been in the playoffs since the 2006-07 season, but things appear to be changing for this franchise. The Jets own a 15-9-5 record through 29 games. They have been at their best over their last seven games, where they have allowed 2 goals or less in six of them, on their way to a 5-2 mark. Colorado came out of the gate last season looking like the best team in the NHL early on, but that team has long since left the building, and the Avalanche have been less than average since, and come into this one on a four-game skid. The Avalanche have had issues on the defensive end, allowing 3 goals or more in 15 of their last 17 games. Going against a Winnipeg team that has allowed 2 or less in six of their last seven isn't going to help them end the skid. Winnipeg takes this one.
