Washington at Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh continues to play great hockey since making a coaching change to Mike Sullivan. They knocked off the Rangers in five games and are now leading favored Washington, 3-2, with a chance to close it out at home. Pittsburgh is third in the NHL in goals scored, sixth in goals allowed and fifth in penalty killing. The supposed weakness, injuries to their goalies, hasn't been a problem at all thanks to the stellar play in net of rookie Matt Murray. Murray is 6-2 with a 1.96 goals-against average and .937 save percentage in these playoffs. Washington sputtered a bit down the stretch of the regular season and they haven't been the same team since, on a 3-8 run against winning teams. Pittsburgh has dominated play for much of this series: The Penguins combined for 80 shots on net in the first two games and had another 38 blocked. They had a 2-1 road victory in Game 2 as Pittsburgh limited the Capitals to 10 shots over the first two periods. Even in losing Game 5 the Penguins had the edge in shots on goal, 31-19, and in hits. The Penguins are 22-6 against the Eastern Conference and on a 21-6 run at home. The Capitals are just 7-15 in the last 22 meetings, including 3-8 at Pittsburgh. Take Pittsburgh.
