Washington at Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh continues to play great hockey since making a coaching change to Mike Sullivan, getting a split in Washington to steal home ice. The Penguins are looking for their fourth win in five overall matchups against Washington. The Capitals will be missing one of their top defensemen with Brooks Orpik suspended for his hit on Olli Maatta the last game. Orpik will miss Game 3 on Monday, Game 4 on Wednesday, and Game 5 on Saturday. With Orpik suspended, the Capitals are without their most physical defenseman and a top penalty-killer. Pittsburgh has dominated play for much of this series. The Penguins have a combined 80 shots on net in the two games and had another 38 blocked. They come off a 2-1 victory in Game 2 on Saturday as Pittsburgh limited the Capitals to 10 shots over the first two periods. Penguins Center Evgeni Malkin (three goals, six assists) has recorded at least one point in all six games since returning to the lineup following a monthlong absence due to a lower-body injury. And rookie goalie Matt Murray has started five in a row, going 4-1-0 with a 1.74 goals-against average in that stretch. The Penguins are on a 20-7 run at home, plus 21-5 playing on one day of rest.
