Washington at Carolina

Washington is making a strong playoff push behind the play of Alex Ovechkin. They trail the Bruins by two points for the final playoff spot in hte East. On Friday Ovechkin became the first player in over a decade to reach 60 goals in a season (Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr last did it in 1995-6). Washington's weakness on the road this season has been defense but they are playing good defense right now having held their last five opponents to an average of 2.4 goals per game. Carolina has their own defensive problems allowing 3.0 per game at home. Washington is 19-11 this season vs. winning teams. In their last 15 games vs. poor defensive opponents (those allowing 2.9+ goals per game), the Caps are 11-4 UNDER. That includes an 8-2 UNDER mark vs. teams allowing 3+ per game.
